Plus X Award seal for ecology:
Professionally tested by the testing institute Hansecontrol
There is hardly any other country in Europe with quite as strict legal requirements when it comes to quality that are as complex and as demanding as those in Germany. At the same time, consumer consciousness is continuously being raised with regard to the ecological aspects of products and therefore highly influencing the purchasing decision. Because long gone are those days when ecological products are associated with an outdated design and a below-average performance. Environmentally friendly items today are designed to be hip, highly coveted and fashionable.

But, how can the regular consumer find his or her way through today's confusing jungle of products? How can an ecological product be clearly identified? With the ecology seal, Plus X Award offers the end user a reliable means to be able to make a purchasing decision on products based not only their high quality but also on how much sense they make to the environment. With the most state-of-the-art laboratory equipment available in Europe and with more than 25 years of experience, the accredited testing institute Hanseconrol has the scientific expertise needed to collaborate as a partner of the Plus X Award and with it, the institute is able to substantially consult the jury members in matters relating to presenting a Plus X Award seal.

Because, not only do consumers demand that equipment that consume high amounts of energy, such as refrigerators, ovens, washing machines and dryers, be energy efficient and use less water, they also increasingly demand more energy-efficient electrical small appliances in an age when the price of energy is increasing constantly.

And this is also new: Up until now, during the Plus X Award nominating phase, manufacturers were given the opportunity to submit their own products for an award. Effective immediately, manufacturers aspiring to be awarded a Plus X Award seal for ecology are allowed to register their products at any time and to have them tested at the testing institute with quick turnaround times.
